Furyk speaks about his 2012

For golfer Jim Furyk, the PGA season 2012 season was not that good – with several meltdowns and back to back losses. Still Jim did not stop from speaking about all the painful loses with a leading golf magazine.

He admitted that this was the most depressing interview he has ever given to anyone. Davis Love III had famously told the magazine that Jim was probably only 3 swings from being a Player of the Year nominee, but Jim answered that, whilst he is trying to take that as a compliment – that he is so close to the top of the game – he struggles to see past the fact that he game consistently let him down time and again last season. McDowell tries to follow his dream

For two consecutive majors, Graeme McDowell will begin the final in the last group following a 67 at the third round lead him to a 7-under par finish, with Adam Scott who is ahead of him by four shots.

McDowell finished at second spot, just a stroke behind leader Webb Simpson, while he sought another U.S. Open title in San Francisco in the previous month, but now intends to follow the footsteps of Darren Clarke, who was the former Open Champion.

McDowell is hoping to win in the next tournament. McDowell believes that Darren is an inspiration and he will think about him during the competition. In fact, when he was still a young boy, he dreamed of joining the last fairway, being with the last group to perform in The Open Championship.

He thinks that being in the last group of the consecutive major championships is special for him.

He said that he cannot expect to win but he will compete and do just the right thing, and also to give himself an opportunity to be included in the lead of three or four going on a Sunday afternoon and be able to play with the leader.

Padraig Harrington said that McDowell is only following his destiny – to do what he was meant to do.

Harrington thinks that if McDowell wins his second major, it will make things go smoothly for him – a second win will allow him to relax and it will be easy for him to manage that position.  It is likely that a lot of majors are in store for McDowell, he said

Harrington also said that Rory already won majors while he was young, which is the secret if one intends to win plenty of majors. He proves that he does not need to improve much, staying the same is also a good place to be.
